Data Preparation and Analysis

🏢 Client Overview

ChapsVision delivers sovereign, large‑scale data intelligence solutions for highly secure environments.
Its ArgonOS platform enables massive data ingestion, fusion, semantic enrichment, and AI‑assisted analysis to support mission‑critical decision‑making across defense, public safety, and strategic industries.

I produced the first complete documentation for ArgonOS, helping structure and formalize the platform's technical foundations.

🧩 Project Overview

A four‑month mission to design and deliver the first complete (French) documentation for ArgonOS, then focused on secure data preparation, exploration, and analysis.

Scope & Strategy

As a senior technical writer and consultant, I was responsible for building ArgonOS's documentation in a demanding context with a dual challenge:

  • Delivering the most complete documentation possible within four months,
  • Presenting the solution clearly and attractively to support adoption.

The project started with no existing documentation, while the platform was being actively developed. I therefore adopted an empirical, iterative approach:

  • Rapid upskilling in Data Preparation and Data Exploration,
  • Hands‑on exploration of the platform — the technical writer becoming the first real user,
  • Identifying ambiguities and asking the right questions to the right experts,
  • Validating content progressively with SMEs,
  • Managing tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.

The documentation focused primarily on the Data Preparation module, including part of the API, as well as a substantial portion of the administration manual.

To enhance usability, I designed:

  • A complete workflow tutorial,
  • A set of low‑code processes to guide users,
  • Detailed conceptual and architectural diagrams illustrating system behavior and user interactions.

Technical Execution

  • Proposed and implemented Docusaurus v2 to quickly build a professional, customizable documentation portal aligned with the client's branding.

  • Enabled search, structured navigation, and future integration of API documentation.

  • Produced 86 Markdown files, 22 diagrams, 642 screenshots and illustrations, and 37 low‑code processes.

  • Customized sidebar logic, CSS, and structural components to ensure scalability and maintainability.

  • Delivered a standalone HTML/CSS installation manual for offline use.

Outcome

The final result exceeded the client's expectations and received a 10/10 rating from the first end users.

Starting from zero in February 2022, ChapsVision was able to present a complete, polished documentation portal by June 2022, covering:

  • installation,
  • administration,
  • usage,
  • API integration,
  • and clear, tested tutorials.

This first documentation became a solid foundation for the technical writers who later continued the ArgonOS documentation effort.

👩‍💻 My Role

As a senior technical writer and consultant, I designed the entire documentation ecosystem for a complex data intelligence application suite — from scratch.
I:

  • defined the documentation architecture,
  • authored technical content in Markdown,
  • created diagrams, illustrations, and workflow tutorials,
  • built a complete web portal,
  • and delivered a standalone HTML installation manual.

I chose a docs‑as‑code approach and implemented Docusaurus v2 to ensure fast delivery, long‑term scalability, and seamless integration into developer workflows.

On the human side, the mission required proactivity, autonomy, rapid learning, and resilience in a demanding environment.
